How do we know God's saving grace is irresistible?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture teaches that God's grace operates effectually to save those He has chosen, and none can resist His will.

Irresistible grace is a foundational tenet of Reformed theology rooted in the belief that when God elects to save someone, that salvation will certainly come to pass. This is evident in the narrative of Nebuchadnezzar where God's hand could not be stayed, reflecting His absolute power in bringing sinners to Himself. The example of Isaiah's calling showcases that when God decides to reveal Himself in grace, it transforms lives irrevocably. This is also echoed in John 6:37 where Jesus states that all whom the Father gives Him will come to Him. Thus, the fulfillment of God's will in saving His people is based on His sovereign choice and power, showcasing that His grace overcomes all resistance.
