We can know we are elected by recognizing if we genuinely believe in Christ and His gospel as revealed in Scripture.
Determining our election is closely tied to understanding our calling. As stated in 2 Peter 1:10, one must first examine their calling—are we genuinely responding to the gospel? Genuine belief in Christ, as the one who satisfies all God's requirements for salvation through His righteousness, is a sign of being among the elect. Our election is ultimately proven by our faith in Christ; if we believe in the gospel and rest in His redemptive work, then we can confidently affirm our standing as God's chosen people, as outlined in Romans 8:28-30. The assurance lies not in our actions but in our faith in Christ’s completed work.
