How do we know Jesus is our only hope for righteousness?

Scripture clearly indicates that Jesus Christ is our only hope for righteousness. Romans 10:4 states, 'For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.' This means that all human attempts at establishing righteousness through works fail; only through Christ's obedience and sacrificial death can sinners be declared righteous before God.
