How do we know Jesus is the prophet mentioned in the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is recognized as the prophesied prophet through His miraculous works and divine authority as the God-man.

The people in John 6 recognized Jesus as 'the prophet that should come into the world' after witnessing His miracle of feeding the 5,000 (John 6:14). This prophet was foretold in the Scriptures, including in Deuteronomy 18:15. However, they misunderstood His true identity and purpose. Jesus is not only a prophet but the embodiment of God's word, coming to reveal the mind and will of God. His miracles were evidence of His divine authority, indicating that He is indeed 'God with us' (Emmanuel) and the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies.
