How do we know that Christ's death was planned by God?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture reveals that Christ's death was foreordained by God before the foundation of the world.

The plan for Christ’s redemptive work was established in eternity. The Bible states in 1 Peter 1:20 that Jesus was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for our sake. This shows that the plan for His sacrificial death was part of God’s sovereign purpose. Acts 2:23 also confirms that Christ was delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God. Thus, His death was not an accident or unforeseen circumstance, but rather a deliberate and necessary action determined by God to redeem His chosen people.
