How do we know that Christ was given to us by God?

Answered in 1 source

The scriptures affirm that Christ is the Son given to us, sacrificing Himself for our salvation according to God's divine plan.

Isaiah 9:6 declares, 'For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.' This highlights the intentional act of God in giving His Son for the salvation of His people. This sonship is both an eternal relationship to God and a covenantal relationship to us as the elect. God, in His infinite grace, provided His only Son to secure our salvation by taking on human flesh to redeem us. This gift is not just historical but continues to be made known to us through the preaching of the gospel, wherein He is presented as the Savior. We can confidently assert that our justification and reconciliation with God are grounded in this divine gifting of Christ.
