How do we know that divorce is not the unforgivable sin?

Answered in 1 source

Divorce is not unforgivable; it is a sin like others, and those who are in Christ are forgiven through Him.

While divorce is a serious matter and often involves sin, it is not considered the unforgivable sin in the eyes of God. All believers are sinful and in need of God's grace. In Matthew 19:9, Jesus acknowledges that while adultery is grounds for divorce, it does not necessitate it, as repentance and forgiveness may lead to restoration. The grace of God extends to all sins, and all who are in Christ can find forgiveness and cleansing from even the consequences of divorce. Therefore, the church is called to extend grace rather than to label those who have experienced divorce as second-class Christians.
