How do we know that God's grace ensures the salvation of His people?

Answered in 1 source

God's grace ensures the salvation of His people through His unchangeable promise and the finished work of Christ.

The assurance of salvation for God's people rests wholly on God's grace and His unchangeable covenant. In Zechariah's prophecy, it is proclaimed that the inhabitants of the new Jerusalem shall dwell secure, as they are eternally altered by Christ’s redemptive work. They cannot be removed or cast out due to their relationship with Him, which is initiated through grace, not earned through works. The doctrine of election further supports this belief, providing that salvation is offered not through merit but through God’s sovereign grace alone.
