How do we know that God's justice is not bloodthirsty?

Answered in 1 source

God's justice is rooted in His holiness and righteousness, not in a desire to inflict pain but to uphold truth.

Ezekiel 33:11 illustrates that God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires that they turn from their sinful ways and live. His justice springs from His holiness and necessity to deal with sin truthfully. Unlike a capricious ruler, God's judgment is aimed at correcting and restoring rather than merely punishing for pleasure. This demonstrates that God's character is inherently just, and His disciplinary actions stem from a desire for repentance and restoration rather than sadism.
