How do we know that life in Christ is certain?

Answered in 1 source

Life in Christ is certain because it is based on His righteousness, which is imputed to believers and guarantees their salvation.

The certainty of life in Christ is clearly stated in Romans 5:17, which teaches that those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life through Jesus Christ. This assurance is not grounded in our actions or merits but in the righteousness of Christ, our representative. The gift of grace that Christ offers is far greater than the offense caused by Adam's sin. By contrast to Adam, who brought condemnation, Christ's obedience leads to justification for all who believe. Hence, those who come to faith in Christ are promised eternal life and will never perish (John 10:28) because their salvation rests securely on Christ's completed work.
