How do we know that salvation is not by chance or human choice?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is rooted in God's eternal purpose and is not contingent upon human decision-making.

The Bible makes it clear that salvation is not a matter of chance or individual choice, but rather it is determined by God's sovereign will. Ephesians 1:5 states that God 'having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself according to the good pleasure of His will.' This indicates that our belonging to God as His children is based on His decision, not ours. Furthermore, John 6:44 asserts, 'No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him,' reinforcing the notion that it is God who operates in the hearts of individuals to bring them to Himself. Therefore, the confidence in salvation lies not in our ability to choose, but in God's faithful and unchanging purpose.
