How do we know that the intercession of Christ is essential for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The intercession of Christ is essential because it guarantees that those for whom He died will be saved and preserved unto glory.

In John 17:2, Jesus speaks of His authority to give eternal life to those given to Him by the Father, illustrating the essential nature of His intercession. Christ's role as our mediator ensures that all whom the Father has chosen will come to Him, as expressed in John 6:37. His intercession acts as a guarantee that none of His people will be lost, making it a vital component of our salvation. Without His intercession, no person could secure salvation.
