How do we know that we are justified and not condemned?

Answered in 1 source

We know we are justified because Christ took our condemnation upon Himself, as explained in Romans 8:3-4.

The certainty of our justification comes from the truth that Christ was sent by the Father to be a sin offering, condemning sin in the flesh (Romans 8:3). This means that what the law could not accomplish because of human weakness, Christ achieved by fulfilling the righteous requirements of the law on our behalf. Our justification is not based on our actions but is rooted in Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection, where He bore the penalty that was due for our sins. As such, if we are in Christ, we are legally acquitted and stand righteous before God because of what He has accomplished for us, not because of our works.
