How do we know the law of God is meant to bring us to Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible illustrates that the law's purpose is to expose our need for Christ and not to justify us.

In Romans 3:20, it is explained that by the law is the knowledge of sin, which reveals our inability to achieve righteousness through our own efforts. The law serves to lead us to Christ, as indicated in Galatians 3:24, where it is described as a schoolmaster to bring us to faith. The purpose of God's law is twofold: to reveal our depravity and to drive us towards reliance on Christ's grace for salvation. When we come to see the holiness of God's law, we begin to understand that our only hope is found outside of ourselves, in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
