How do we know we are in God's family?

Answered in 1 source

We are in God's family by believing in Christ and doing His will.

Scripturally, being part of God's family is not based on our actions, but rather on our faith in Jesus Christ. In John 6:28-29, Jesus states that the work of God is to believe on Him whom He has sent. This belief results in a transformed life where doing the will of God becomes a manifestation of our identity as His children. Just as Galatians 4:6 affirms that God sends the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, this divine relationship asserts our status as sons and daughters of God.
