How do we know we are qualified for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are qualified for salvation solely by God's grace through Jesus Christ.

According to Colossians 1:12, believers are made 'meet' or fit for salvation by the Father. This qualification does not stem from any inherent goodness or works; rather, it is bestowed upon believers by God’s grace through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. As humans, our natural state is one of unworthiness, deserving only condemnation. However, through Christ's sacrifice, those who believe are credited with righteousness and thus gain access to the inheritance of the saints. The grounding of our qualification is Christ entirely; salvation is a divine gift, not a reward for our actions.
