How do we know we are sinful by nature?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible clearly states that in our flesh dwells no good thing, revealing our inherent sinfulness.

In Scripture, particularly in Romans 7:18, Paul proclaims, 'For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing.' This acknowledgment reflects the Reformed understanding of total depravity, which asserts that every part of humanity is affected by sin. Our thoughts, actions, and intentions are tainted. While the grace of God may restrain us from our worst inclinations, it does not eradicate our sinful nature. This reality compels us to rely fully on Christ for righteousness and salvation.
