How does being in Christ affect a believer's ability to do good works?

Answered in 1 source

Being in Christ empowers believers to bear fruit as their good works stem from their union with Him.

The believer's ability to perform good works is directly associated with their union with Christ. According to John 15:5, apart from Him, we can do nothing. Our good works are not self-generated; they stem from Christ's work in us through the Holy Spirit. As we abide in Him, we are able to produce fruit that honors God and showcases His grace. This signifies that true good works reflect our reliance on Christ and demonstrate that we are alive in Him.
