In the Christian life, faith serves as the foundation for love. According to 1 John 5:1-3, true love for God stems from belief in Jesus Christ. Faith acts as the root from which love blossoms. When believers are transformed by the Holy Spirit and are born again, their faith leads to affection for God and the desire to love and keep His commandments, which are summarized as believing on Christ and demonstrating love to one another.
