How does one become a true Christian?

Answered in 1 source

One becomes a true Christian by being justified through faith in Christ and experiencing the new birth by the Holy Spirit.

True Christianity reveals that becoming a Christian involves two critical elements: justification and regeneration. Justification comes through faith alone in the finished work of Christ, where one's sins are imputed to Him, and His righteousness is credited to the believer. Additionally, Jesus highlights in John 3 that one must be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven. This new birth is an act of the Holy Spirit that imparts spiritual life and transforms the heart, compelling one to trust in Christ and turn from sin. Therefore, a true Christian is marked both by faith in Christ’s righteousness and the witness of the Spirit in their life.
