How does the gospel confirm our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The gospel confirms our salvation by revealing God's grace and the finished work of Christ.

The gospel is the means by which God testifies to us concerning our salvation. Hebrews 2:3-4 asks, "How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord and was confirmed unto us by those who heard Him?" This demonstrates that God confirms His saving work through the proclamation of the gospel, bringing spiritual awakening and assurance to His people. The supernatural workings of the Holy Spirit through the preaching of the Word corroborate the truth of the gospel, as Romans 10:17 teaches that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
