What does it mean to have done good in the context of judgment?

Answered in 1 source

To have done good means to be found in Christ, possessing His imputed righteousness rather than one’s own works.

John 5:29 states that those who have done good will be resurrected to life, while those who have done evil to condemnation. This can be confusing unless understood in light of Romans 3, which asserts that none are good by their own efforts. The 'good' referred to in John 5:29 is the goodness of Christ's righteousness imputed to believers, meaning that it is through faith in Christ and His finished work that we can be declared good and resurrected to eternal life. Good works in this context are the fruit of true faith, but they do not earn our salvation.
