What does it mean to worship God according to the Bible?

Biblical worship is an act of reverence, honor, and devotion towards God. It involves recognizing His greatness and our dependency on Him. Worship is not merely about rituals or ceremonies; it encompasses the heart's attitude toward God and our response to His grace. In Zechariah's time, God commanded His people to resume their sacrificial practices, which symbolized their acknowledgment of sin and reliance on God's merciful provision. Today, true worship includes offering ourselves as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1), and bearing witness to the grace we have received in Christ.
