What does Romans 7 teach about the relationship between sin and the law?

Answered in 1 source

Romans 7 shows that while the law is holy, it reveals our sin nature without providing salvation.

In Romans 7, Paul conveys the doctrine that the law is good and holy, yet it is not capable of saving us. Instead, it serves to highlight our sinfulness, as he states in verse 12, 'Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.' The law exposes our failures and leads us to understand that our righteous efforts cannot justify us before God. Thus, while the law demonstrates our need for righteousness, it must drive us to the grace found in Christ, who fulfills the law on our behalf and offers us true justification through faith in Him.
