What does the Bible say about fourfold salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible describes salvation in four tenses: from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, the pleasure of sin, and ultimately the presence of sin.

In 2 Corinthians 1:9-10, the Apostle Paul reflects on his afflictions while praising God for salvation that encompasses our past, present, and future. A.W. Pink elaborates on this by stating that God saves us not only from the penalty of sin, which is cancelled in Christ, but also from its power over us, its pleasures which burden the believers, and eventually from its very presence in the life to come. This fourfold understanding of salvation underscores the comprehensive work of Christ and God's sovereign purpose in redeeming His people.
