What does the Bible say about God's judgment of our works?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God will bring every work into judgment, evaluating them based on His standard of righteousness, not our own.

According to Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, the conclusion of life's matter is to fear God and keep His commandments, as all our works will be judged by Him. Ecclesiastes emphasizes the vanity of life without God and illustrates the need for a holy reverence towards Him. Specifically, verse 14 states, 'For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.' This means that at the final judgment, the only relevant evaluation of our works is how they stand up to God's standard of righteousness, which is perfect. Jesus himself indicates in John 5:28-29 that those who have done good will be resurrected to life, and those who have done evil to damnation; thus, the metrics of good and evil are not defined by human standards but by God's unchanging truth.
