What does the Bible say about God's love for the unsaved?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible affirms that God loves His elect, not the reprobate.

The Scriptures indicate that while God has a particular, redemptive love for His elect, He does not extend the same love towards the reprobate. As stated in Romans 9:13, 'Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated,' illustrating the doctrine of divine election. To assert that God loves all equally can misrepresent His true nature, as seen in Psalm 5:5-6, where God expresses anger towards the wicked. God's love is salvific only for those chosen to be redeemed.
