What does the Bible say about man's need for a mediator?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that there is only one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who represents us before the Father.

In Job 9, Job expresses the profound need for a mediator in the face of trials and suffering, highlighting that no man can contend with God on their own terms. Job cries out for a 'daysman' or mediator to bridge the gap between himself and God. This need is ultimately fulfilled in Christ, who is described as the only mediator able to intercede for sinners, standing as our advocate before the Father. In 1 Timothy 2:5, we see that Christ fulfills this role of mediator, ensuring that our case is heard and that God's justice is satisfied through His sacrifice.
