What does the Bible say about the joy we find in prosperity?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that true enjoyment in prosperity comes from God and cannot be achieved through mere possessions.

In Ecclesiastes 6, the preacher reveals that man often lacks the ability to enjoy the riches and honor he possesses because real enjoyment is a gift from God. This reality demonstrates that external prosperity does not equate to inner satisfaction. Solomon articulates that without the divine blessing of enjoyment, material wealth is ultimately vain and unsatisfying, as God must grant the capacity to appreciate and savor the good things in life. Therefore, rather than seeking fulfillment in wealth, believers are encouraged to view all things as God’s gifts to be enjoyed in light of His glory, grace, and purposes.
