What does the Bible teach about the new covenant?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that the new covenant, established by Christ, is better than the old covenant because it does not depend on human obedience.

The new covenant, described in Hebrews 8, is fundamentally different from the old covenant because it is built on the promises of God fulfilled in Jesus Christ rather than conditions dependent upon human obedience. While the old covenant's blessings hinged on Israel's actions, which led to failure, the new covenant guarantees that its promises are fulfilled through the work of Christ. This means that believers can have assurance that God's promises will never fail due to our shortcomings, as they rest upon the faithfulness of our great high priest, who is eternally interceding on our behalf.
