What happens if a watchman fails to warn the people?

Answered in 1 source

If a watchman fails to warn the people of judgment, he will be held accountable for their blood.

In Ezekiel 33, God makes clear the serious responsibility of the watchman. If he sees danger coming and does not sound the alarm, the blood of the unwarned will be on his hands. This emphasizes the accountability that ministers and preachers have in delivering God's message without distortion. They must convey the realities of sin, judgment, and grace as found in Christ. A failure to do so not only jeopardizes the souls of those who fail to heed the warning but also places the watchman under judgment for neglecting his God-given duty to protect and guide the people.
