What is the significance of spiritual sacrifices in a believer's life?

Answered in 1 source

Spiritual sacrifices are expressions of worship that are accepted by God through Jesus Christ.

In 1 Peter 2:5, spiritual sacrifices refer to the acts of worship, praise, love, and prayer that believers offer to God. These sacrifices are significant because they reflect the believer's gratitude and relationship with God, made possible through Christ’s atoning work. However, these acts are only considered acceptable by God when they are rooted in the merit of Jesus Christ. The spiritual life of a believer should be characterized by continual faith in Christ, which allows all they do—whether in worship or daily living—to be pleasing to God. Without Christ, even our best deeds are tainted with sin and cannot earn God’s favor.
