Why is being found in Christ important for judgment?

Answered in 1 source

Being found in Christ is essential for judgment because only through Him can we receive acceptance and righteousness before God.

Being found in Christ is crucial on the day of judgment, as affirmed in 2 Corinthians 5:10 which explains that we must all appear before Christ’s judgment seat. Those who are in Christ are accepted based on His righteousness, while those outside of Him face eternal condemnation. The only hope for salvation is through faith in Christ, thus highlighting the importance of being united to Him in His death and resurrection. The works of those in Christ are deemed as fruits of grace, contrasting sharply with the works of those who are not found in Him, which are declared to be evil. Therefore, our assurance of eternal life hinges on being in Christ. Without Him, no matter our earthly achievements, we stand without hope before God’s judgment.
