Why is Christ better than the old covenant?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is better because He brings a more excellent ministry and provides righteousness for sinners, fulfilling the demands of the law.

In Hebrews 8, the author emphasizes that Christ is better than the old covenant because He serves in a far superior ministry. The old covenant was a temporary measure that could not bring about true righteousness; it was simply a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). In contrast, Christ fulfills the law and offers genuine righteousness through His sacrifice. As a result, believers under the new covenant are justified by faith in Him and receive the imputed righteousness of Christ, ensuring their acceptance before God, which the old covenant could never accomplish.
