Why is faith important for attaining righteousness?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is essential for attaining righteousness because it is the means by which we receive Christ's imputed righteousness (Romans 10:10).

According to Romans 10:10, 'For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.' This highlights the fundamental role of faith in the process of justification. It is not through our works or efforts that we achieve righteousness, but rather through believing in the finished work of Christ. Faith is the channel through which God's grace flows, allowing us to receive the imputed righteousness of Christ. Without faith, one cannot grasp the salvation offered in the gospel, which relies entirely on Christ's merit rather than our own.
