Why is faith important for being godly?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is crucial for godliness because it connects us to Christ, who provides the righteousness we need.

According to 2 Peter 1:3, faith is a gift from God and is essential to obtaining knowledge of Him. This faith is not a result of human effort but rather the divine work in our hearts. It is through faith that we understand our position in Christ and are able to partake in His righteousness. Without faith, we cannot be declared righteous or experience true godliness, as faith brings us into alignment with God's will and allows us to act in ways that glorify Him. Therefore, faith is the foundation upon which godliness is built.
