Why is prayer important if God has predestined everything?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer is important because it is commanded by God and is integral to His sovereign will, allowing believers to participate in His plans.

Though God has predestined all things, prayer serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it is an act of obedience to God's command; He instructs His children to seek Him in prayer. Secondly, prayer is part of God's ordained means by which He accomplishes His purposes. In Jeremiah 29:12-13, God promises that when His people seek Him, they will find Him. This indicates that while God's sovereign will is established, He has graciously established a relationship of interaction with His people through prayer. Therefore, praying reveals our dependence on God and aligns our hearts with His divine will, showcasing that the path to fulfilling God's promises involves earnest seeking and entreaty.
