Why is salvation conditioned only on Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is conditioned on Christ alone because He is the surety for His people, taking on their sin debt.

In sovereign grace theology, salvation is fundamentally conditioned on Christ rather than on the actions of sinners. Ephesians 1:7 indicates that redemption comes through His blood, highlighting that Christ fulfills the requirements for salvation. Believing in Christ, repenting from sins, and persevering in faith are viewed as fruits of God’s grace rather than conditions for receiving salvation. The point is made clear in the analogy of the vine and branches in John 15, where all spiritual fruitfulness stems from Christ’s atoning work.
