Why is submission to God essential in the Christian faith?

Answered in 1 source

Submission to God is essential as it acknowledges His sovereignty and aligns us with His will for our salvation.

Submission to God is foundational to the Christian faith, as it recognizes His sovereignty and our dependence on His grace. The concept of meekness involves not only recognizing God's righteousness but actively choosing to align our hearts and actions with His ways. This is evident in Romans 10, where the Israelites are described as being ignorant of God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, which ultimately leads to condemnation.

By submitting to God's judgment and His declared way of salvation through Christ, believers express true meekness. This submission acknowledges that any righteousness we possess is not from our efforts but from Christ alone. As a result, we come to trust in God's goodness and grace, bringing us into a right relationship with Him. Such submission is necessary for experiencing the fullness of salvation promised to those who humble themselves before the Lord.
