Why is the person of Jesus Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus Christ is integral to Christianity as He is the embodiment of salvation and the fulfillment of God’s promises.

The person of Jesus Christ is vital to Christianity because He represents the very nature of God as the second person of the Trinity. In Hebrews 1:1-3, we learn that God has spoken to us through His Son, highlighting the divine authority and significance of Christ. His identity as both fully God and fully man underlines His unique role in accomplishing redemption. Jesus is not only our Savior but also the eternal Son who, through His life, death, and resurrection, provides the only way for humanity to be reconciled to God. His sovereignty and righteousness make Him the only mediator through whom we can approach the Father and receive salvation. Thus, understanding who Christ is forms the foundation of the Christian faith.
