Why is the priesthood of Christ better than the old covenant priests?

Christ's priesthood is permanent and perfect, unlike the old priests who were sinful and temporary.

The priesthood of Christ is superior because it is established without an oath and based on His eternal and sinless nature. The old covenant priests were mere types, mortal and flawed, unable to accomplish what Christ did. Hebrews 7:26 describes Christ as a high priest who is holy, innocent, and exalted above the heavens, signifying that He alone is capable of fully representing His people before God. His intercession is effective and everlasting, ensuring that His sacrifice provides complete salvation for those He came to redeem.
