Why is trusting in God more important than trusting in means?

Answered in 1 source

Trusting in God ensures reliance on His power rather than the temporary means He provides.

The tendency to rely on the means God uses, such as resources, relationships, or circumstances, often detracts from our trust in God Himself, the ultimate provider. In Elijah's experience, we see how the brook, a symbol of God's provision, could lead to dependence on that provision instead of God. When that brook dried up, it served as a reminder that while God uses means, He is the true source of all blessings. Recognizing this truth helps maintain the right perspective in adversity, ensuring we remain focused on God, who promises never to leave or forsake His people.
