Why is understanding Christ's work essential for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding Christ’s work is essential because it reveals God's plan of redemption and the means by which believers are saved.

Christ's work is central to the Christian faith because it accomplishes what we could not do for ourselves: satisfy the justice of God and pay the penalty for sin. Hebrews 1:3 describes Jesus as the one who purged our sins and sat down at the right hand of the Father, indicating the completion of His work. This understanding allows believers to grasp the depth of God's love and grace, as it becomes apparent that His sacrifice was necessary for our reconciliation with God. It's through comprehending who Christ is and what He has done that we appreciate the fullness of our salvation and the assurance we have in Him.
