Why should Christians live righteously despite knowing God is sovereign?

Answered in 1 source

Christians are called to live righteously as a reflection of their faith and witness to God's glory.

While it's true that God's sovereignty ensures His purposes will be accomplished, Christians have a responsibility to reflect their faith through righteous living. As outlined in Titus 2:10, believers are to 'adorn the doctrine of God' by their conduct. This means that our lives should exemplify the grace and truth of the gospel. Although our actions cannot alter God's sovereign plan, they serve as a testimony to others and an expression of our love for God. When we act in accordance with His Word, we fulfill our duty to God while living as examples before a watching world. Ultimately, our desire to live righteously arises from our gratitude for God's grace and mercy in our own lives.
