Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This
is Sinner Saved coming at you with the following short evangelistic
gospel message, which is sponsored by preacher Wayne Boyd and the
brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus at First Baptist Church,
located in Almonte, Michigan, USA. And God willing, this broadcast
will reach you, Lima Charlie, loud and clear. It is my hope
and prayer unto God most high, the only holy father, that is
only begotten son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness. be
greatly exalted, that his everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed,
that the pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled, and
that his elect saints be greatly encouraged, cheered, and comforted
in these evil and perilous times. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural references for
your own follow-up study. And so, we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find enclosed encouragement
in so great salvation by the perfect and finished work of
our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy, and wretched sinners
by His sovereign free grace. That is to say, Almighty God
in His unmerited favor to save me and you from our sins and
from hell. Are we appointed to wrath? So here's the question. Are we
appointed unto wrath? Here's the answer from 1 Thessalonians
5 verses 9 and 10. God has not appointed us to wrath,
but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for
us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with
him. The apostle in this passage of scripture is writing about
the second coming of Christ, Let there be no mistake about
it. The return of the Lord will be as terrifying for the unbeliever
as it will be a blessing for the believer. For more on this
fearsomeness of the day of the Lord, please write these scriptural
references, friends. It's Isaiah 34.4. Isaiah 13, 9. Zephaniah 1, 14
through 16. Amos 5, 18. Jeremiah 30, 7. Malachi 4, 1. and Joel 2.31. The return of Jesus will come
suddenly and for many unexpectedly. It will involve a cosmic upheaval
in which the universe will be shaken to its very foundations.
It will usher in the severe and merciless judgment of God. Additionally,
all unbelievers are already under the wrath of God. See what the
Lord Jesus says in John 3.36. But wrath is not God's appointment
for the believer. God has not appointed us to wrath.
On that great and terrible event, the Lord will come like a thief
in the night. And when he comes, some will receive damnation,
while others will receive salvation. Salvation? Yes, salvation! Look and see how simple this
is. God has not appointed us to wrath. However, you may ask,
who are the us? The us pertains to every believer
who, through grace, trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ. God has
appointed them, the us, to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
who died for us. Yes, indeed, faith receives.
that he has died for us. Think about it, when he comes
back to gather up his own, whether we are on the earth or in the
grave, whether we wake or sleep, it makes no difference. We shall
eternally live with him. Now, before we conclude, Let
me ask, are you ready for the Lord's coming? If he returned
today, would you live together with him? You say, I'm trying
to live for him. Sorry, that won't do. We don't
get eternal life by trying to live for Christ. We get salvation
as lost sinners simply by Faith. Faith trusts that. In Christ,
God has become man. As a man, he displayed perfect
goodness, perfect love, perfect grace, and perfect holiness. He, in his doing and dying, accomplished
the work that qualifies us to go where he is already gone. He lived for us. He went down
to death for us. He gave himself for us. He bore
our sins for us. He atoned for us. He blotted
out our sins with his own precious blood. Then he went into the
depth of the grave, but after three days he broke the bars
of the tomb, rose and went into glory, and now says to us, I
am coming back for you, that where I am, there you may be
also. See John 14 3. Praise the Lord,
we have not been appointed to wrath. We have been appointed
to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lived
and died and rose again for us. Blessed be his name. Praise his
name. Believe on him and rejoice that
God has not appointed us to wrath, but appointed to obtain salvation
by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us. Friends, please
see 1 Thessalonians. 5 verses 9 and 10. And that's the gospel truth.
Great message from preacher Miles McKee. A reading from 2 Timothy
4, 8. Finally, there is laid up for
me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
judge, will give to me on that day, and not to me only, but
also to all who have loved his appearing. When thou, my righteous
judge, shalt come to fetch thy ransomed people home, shall I
among them stand? Shall such a worthless worm as
I, who sometimes am afraid to die, be found at thy right hand? I love to meet among them now,
Before thy gracious feet to bow, Thou vilest of them all, But
can I bear the piercing thought, What if my name should be left
out, When thou for them shall call? Prevent, prevent it by
thy grace, Be thou, dear Lord, my hiding place, In this the
accepted day, The pardoning voice, O let me hear, To still my unbelieving
fear, Nor let me fall, I pray. Let me be among thy saints be
found, When'er the archangel's trumpet shall sound, To see thy
smiling face, then loudest of the crowd I'll sing, While heaven's
resounding mansions ring, With shouts of sovereign grace. Look at the sun. If I were to
stare at the sun, I'm certain my eyes would be damaged. There
is, however, a greater brightness to be gazed upon without fear
of damage. Oh, that we would, by faith,
look upon the sun of righteousness. Malachi 4.2. Unlike the natural
sun the more you look at Christ the stronger and the clearer
faith will be The eye of faith is only weakened when we look
away from Christ and gaze upon something else We begin our salvation
experience when we were enabled by the spirit of grace to obey
the gospel command Look unto me and be saved all the ends
of the earth for I am God and there is none else Isaiah 45
22 we continue through this wilderness journey,
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, Hebrews
12.2. Someday we will be like Christ
and that we will be when we shall see him as he is, 1 John 3.2.
Excellent. Christ paid the ransom price,
as it is written in Job 33, 24. Then he, meaning God, then he
is gracious unto him and saith, deliver him from going down to
the pit. I have found a ransom. There
is a fullness and a completion in the ransom price that Christ
paid to the justice of God for all the people for whom He died. The Son of God gave for our redemption
price a ransom that completely satisfied divine justice, the
holy law, the troubled conscience, and the infinite holiness of
God. He paid the full ransom price and there is nothing that
remains to be paid. He drank the cups or the cup
rather, of righteous indignation, even to its last bitter dregs. He magnified the law and made
it honorable. God's detestation of sin and
his judgment against it are clearly revealed and declared in the
substitutionary cross death of Christ. Good message from preacher
Jim Bird. Sin, righteousness, judgment. The Holy Spirit convicts every
sinner for whom Christ died for of these three things. Sin, sin
is what I am, not just the things I do or don't do. Sin is my nature
as it's written in Psalm 51. I was born in sin and shapen
in iniquity. He gives to those whom he saves
a right understanding of sin. Righteousness. First, I do not
have righteousness of my own accord. None. Second, Jesus Christ
is all my righteousness. See Romans 10, 4. For Christ
is the end of the law, for righteousness to everyone that believeth. Christ's
obedience even unto death is the righteousness of the saints.
Judgment. I deserve the judgment of God's
wrath. That's true. The Holy Spirit
takes every sinner whom he saves to the cross and reveals to them. God's judgment on them in their
substitute, Jesus Christ and him crucified. My judgment passed
on him and I am free. If the son therefore shall make
you free, you shall be free indeed, says the Lord in John 8 36. And
therefore we conclude from Romans 8 1. There is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walked not
after the flesh, but after the spirit. That was from preacher
John Chapman. Covenant mercies, a reference
to 2 Samuel 23 verses one through five. Sometimes the last words
of a man are regarded, remembered, and sometimes even recorded for
all to read and think upon. Certainly, this is true of David.
God is about to call him home to glory in this special time.
He found his comfort, hope, and salvation in God's covenant of
mercy and grace revealed in Jesus Christ, who is the surety of
the covenant. Hebrews 7, 22. Although David had won many victories,
had even reigned over Israel for 40 years as God's king, and
was used of God to write many Psalms, his hope of salvation
was not what he accomplished, but rather in Christ alone. David
describes the hope of every believer in verse five. Although we are
sinners, Psalm 51 5 although we are guilty before God Romans
3 19 Although we deserve nothing but judgment and God's wrath
Romans 6 23 yet God delights to show mercy because of the
eternal covenant of grace made with Christ Jesus before the
world began Hebrews 13 20 Our sinful condition does not
hinder his almighty purpose and grace in Christ. See Daniel 4.35
and Romans 5.6. Remember these five things about
this covenant. Number one, this covenant is
everlasting, everlasting in its counsel. Before there was a sinner,
there was a savior. Before Adam fell, the surety
stood. See Revelation 13, eight. Everlasting
in its continuance. Whatever God does, it shall be
forever. Ecclesiastes 3, 14. Everlasting
in its consequences. The believer is predestinated
to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. Romans 8, verses
28 through 30. Number two, this covenant is
ordered in all things. The mercies and grace of God
are not left to luck, chance, nor the sinner's will, but to
the determinate counsel and purpose of God. Ephesians 1, verses three
through six. This puts the doing of our salvation
not in our hands, but in Christ alone who cannot fail. Isaiah
42, four. Salvation is of the Lord. See
Romans 9, verses 13 through 16. Number three. This covenant of
grace is sure. It stands upon a sure basis.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the foundation upon which this covenant
rests. He is the solid rock. See Isaiah
28, 16, and also 2 Timothy 2, 19. Number four, this is all
my salvation. It is totally upon Jesus Christ,
his person, sacrifice, and righteousness that the believer has any measure
of confidence in salvation. Jesus Christ is not a way. He
is the way. See John 14.6 and Colossians
2 verses 9 and 10. Number five, and lastly, this
is all my desire. We rejoice in Jesus Christ and
have no confidence in the flesh. We desire to know more about
Jesus Christ and to grow in grace and in the knowledge of him.
See Philippians three, verses three through nine and first
Peter two, two. This is the earnest desire of
every believer. Good message from preacher Tom
Harding. Friends, it is imperative that
you flee to Christ Jesus today, not tomorrow, for none of us
are promised another day on this planet. Today is the day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ while he may be found, and seek him while he
is near. Only by being in Christ, the
ark of our salvation, may we be delivered from the fierce
wrath of Almighty God, which is coming soon upon the wicked. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was, and is, and is to come. Great is our Lord Jesus
Christ, and greatly to be praised. Take heart, friends. Our mighty
and glorious King of glory is inbound for his afflicted saints. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus
Christ. Maranatha.
