Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This is Senator Save coming at
you with the following short evangelistic gospel message,
which is sponsored by preacher Wayne Boyd and the Brothers and
Sisters in Christ. First Baptist Church here in
Michigan. And God willing, this broadcast
will reach you, Lima Charlie, loud and clear. It is my hope
and prayer unto God Most High, the only Holy Father, that His
only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be
greatly exalted. that his everlasting gospel be
clearly proclaimed, that the pride of mere flesh and blood
men be humbled, and that his elect saints be greatly encouraged,
cheered, and comforted in these evil and perilous days. Please
consider having paper and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural
references for your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the
weekend gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find enclosed encouragement
in so great salvation by the perfect and finished work of
our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy, wretched sinners
by His sovereign free grace. That is to say, Almighty God
in His unmerited favor to save me and you from our sins and
from hell. No, a powerful little word. There is a two-letter word which
often occurs oftentimes in scripture is this little word no. So let's
just pause for a moment and look at four of the times This powerful
reward occurs in the Bible. May the Lord grant us understanding
as we consider them. Number one, firstly, in the book
of Psalms, we read, the fool has said in his heart, there
is no God. Psalm 53, one. Notice that the
words there is in this verse are in italics. That means that
they have been added by the translators. So in the original language,
the verse simply reads, the fool has said, no God. Observe the
man who lives like there is no God. He's a fool It matters not
how brilliant people say he is God says he is a fool. He prefers
his wisdom to God's wisdom. He's a fool He lives without accountability
to God. He's a fool. In his supposed wisdom, he disregards
the heavenly gifts of Christ. He's a fool. He often says we
should live the best way we can and help our fellow man. Good
for him, but he's a fool. Why? Because he says there is
no God. He pats himself on the back and
congratulates himself for his supposed good deeds, but he is
a fool. Number two, next we encounter
another powerful no. We read, there is none righteous. No, not one. Romans 3.10. If our confidence and trust is
in our supposed righteousness, it is a false trust. It is a
rubber crutch and we will perish. Here's the gospel truth. God's
righteousness has been fully revealed in Christ and he, therefore,
will have none of ours. We must submit ourselves to his
righteousness alone. Now here's more gospel truth.
The only righteous people before God are those who by faith have
received the righteousness of Christ as their own. It matters
not how many good deeds they have done. If they do not have
the righteousness of Christ imputed to them, they have no acceptable
righteousness before God. Number three, that is Isaiah,
we read another no. There we read, I, even I am the
Lord and beside me there is no savior. Isaiah 43, 11. Alas, many are trusting in their
own righteousness and morality, instead of to Christ alone as
their only Savior. But what could be plainer than
this precious truth? Beside me there is no Savior. This is the powerful declaration
of the Lord Himself, the One who could say, I, even I, am
the Lord. He came into the world as the
Savior, saying plainly, if you believe not that I am He, you
shall die in your sins, John 8, 24. But this is not all, he
gave himself a ransom for us. See 1 Timothy 2.6, he laid down
his life for us. His precious blood was shed for
us. And now he lives again and has risen and sits on the throne
of God for us. This is he who is declared to
be the savior and there is no savior beside him. Have you trusted
him for your destiny? Number four, finally, what is
the result of trusting Jesus as your savior? Here it is. There
is now therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. What a wonderful truth. Believers
are completely delivered both now and forever from all condemnation
and damnation. Christ Himself has taken the
believer's place on the cross and borne our judgment once for
all, and now we are in Him. Summary, folks. The fool has
said there is no God. There is none. No, not one righteous. There is no Savior but Christ. There is no condemnation for
those in Christ That's the gospel truth. That was from preacher
Myles McKee Almighty God is sovereign Has God decreed all things that
come to pass? Then there is nothing that falls
out by chance, nor are we to ascribe what we meet with, either
to good or bad luck and fortune. There are many events in the
world which men look upon as mere accidents, yet all these
come by the counsel and appointment of heaven. King Solomon tells
us in Proverbs 16, 33, that the lot is cast into the lap, but
the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord. However disordered
and fortuitous things may be with respect to us, yet they
are all determined and directed by the Lord. When that man drew
a bow at random, or by venture, in 1 Kings 22.34, it was merely
accidental with respect to him, yet it was God that guided the
motion of that arrow. so as to strike the king of Israel
rather than any other man. Nothing then comes to pass, however
random and uncertain it may seem to be, but what was decreed by
Almighty God. Let the people of God comfort
themselves in all cases by this doctrine of the divine decrees
and amidst whatever befalls them, rest quietly and submissively
in the bosom of God, considering that whatever comes or can come
to pass proceeds from the decree of their gracious friend and
reconciled father who knows what is best for them and will make
all things work together for their good. Oh, what a sweet
and pleasant life would you have under the heaviest pressures
of affliction, and what heavenly serenity and tranquility of mind
would you enjoy, would you cheerfully acquiesce in the goodwill and
pleasure of God, and embrace every dispensation, no matter
how sharp it may be, because it is determined and appointed
for you by the eternal counsel of His will. Outstanding, old-timer
preacher Thomas Boston. Did the Spirit of God ever convince
you of sin? Do you see yourself liable to
the curse of the law and the just vengeance of God for the
innate depravity of your nature and the transgressions of your
life? Do you come to Christ humbled and self-condemned, sensible
that unless you are clothed with the merits of Him, our elder
brother Christ Jesus, you are ruined and undone and can never
stand with joy or safety before the Holy Lord God? If so, lift
up thy head. Redemption is thine. Thou art
in a state of grace. Thou art translated from death
to life. Thou art an heir of God and a
joint heir with Christ. But if you never felt nor desired
to feel this work of the Holy Ghost upon thy heart, this conviction
of sin, this penitential faith, all the supposed righteousness
of thine own wherein thou trustest is but a broken reed, a painted
sepulcher, and the trappings of a Pharisee. Well stated from
preacher Augustus to Platy. Is that too good to be true?
The only way that God could accept us and receive us and save us
is for him to have viewed all our sins to be on our surety
and dealt with by our substitute bearing in his own body our sins
on the tree. And now he doesn't see them anymore. Is that right? Is that too good
to be true? It scares people to death. I'm
telling you people who rest in their works and most especially
these vile false religionists and preachers who preach salvation
by works. It scares them to death for somebody
to say that God does not see the sins of his people in them.
But I'm going to tell you something. Before a just God, he cannot
see, as that old hymn writer said, he cannot see my sins in
me and my sins in my substitute, Jesus, at the same time. Impossibility,
Paul says. Well, excuse me, Paul says, this
is the gospel, that God was in Christ reconciling the world
unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. Do you
hear that? That word impute has something
to do With charging he has not charged the sins of his people
to them this world of people in the lord jesus christ Which
by the way is not every person in this world, but the world
he's talking about this world and people in christ God has
not imputed or charged their sins to them. How in the world
could he do that? He did it by charging them to
Christ. He did it by charging to Christ so that this is what
Paul says is committed unto us as the gospel. He has committed
unto us the word of reconciliation. That was from preacher Gary Shepherd,
a transcript of the sermon, Does God See the Sins of His People? Romans 1 16, I am not ashamed
of the gospel of Christ. Says Mr. John Bunyan. Of all
the men that I've met within my pilgrimage, Mr. Shame, I think,
bears the wrong name. This bold-faced Shame would never
have done. I could scarcely shake him out
of my company. He would be continually haunting
me and whispering me in my ear. Indeed, this Shame is a bold
villain. That was an excerpt from Pilgrim's
Progress. Have you not found the same?
Lord, pardon thy servant that this shame still cleaves unto
me. Lord, I am ashamed of myself that I ever should be ashamed
of thee and thy gospel. Lion of the tribe of Judah, drive
away this shame from my heart. Consider first its origin. It
is begotten by pride. We are proud of good names, our
characters, our reason, and understanding among the men of the world. If
we openly profess the gospel of Christ and live and walk under
the influence of it, we cannot do as the rest of the world does.
Hence, we soon shall get a nickname, be called a Methodist, and deemed
a fool, a madman, an enthusiast. Pride cannot bear this. It is
ashamed of it. Then, secondly, it works by fear.
Fear says, take heed to yourselves. Do not go too far. Keep your
gospel to yourselves. You will surely suffer for it
if you will lose your friends, character, and business. You
will set all the world against you. And then, how will you live? Thirdly, you see that pride and
fear are the cursed offspring of atheism and unbelief. They
banish the providence of God and the promises of His grace
out of our mind. Hence, it is plain that faith,
a living faith, in the gospel of Christ will drive pride, fear,
and shame out of the heart. Get ye to hell from whence ye
sprang. Oh, consider the dishonor it
is to precious Christ to be ashamed of His glorious gospel. Does
that bring to our souls the glad tidings of the pardon of our
sins, peace with God, justification before Him, and eternal enjoyment
of Him through the salvation of Christ? Did He make Himself
of no reputation for us? Did He endure the cross and despise
the shame of hanging naked upon it as a cursed malfactor, Sabres? And shall we be ashamed of him?
Where then is our faith in him and love to him? It is one thing
to be beset with shame, and another to give way to it. A lively faith
begets a warm love. Then, shame durst not show his
base head. Without thee, O Jesus, we can
do nothing. Through thy strength we can do all things, Lord. Strengthen
our souls in the faith and love of thee. Oh, suffer us never,
never to be ashamed of thee, and of thy dear cross. but let
us ever glory in thee and of thee. And dear Lord, help us
that we may never be ashamed to thee and thy gospel by an
unchristian life and unholy walk. To God, we still would cleave
with ever growing zeal. If millions tempt us Christ to
leave, oh, let them never prevail. Outstanding preacher, William
Mason. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was and is and is to come. Great is our Lord Jesus Christ
and greatly to be praised. Take heart, friends, our mighty
and glorious King of glory is inbound for his afflicted saints. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus,
Maranatha, Thank you.
