The sermon "Storm Warning #92," presented by various speakers, centers on the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, emphasizing the total depravity of humanity and the need for divine intervention. The key arguments articulate that humanity, due to original sin, is spiritually dead and unable to attain righteousness apart from Christ's atoning work. Scripture references such as Romans 3:10, Romans 5:12, and Isaiah 61:3 highlight the gravity of mankind's sinful condition and God's promised restoration for the afflicted through His Son. The sermon ultimately underscores the practical significance of turning to Christ in faith, especially in times of personal heaviness and despair, assuring believers that their hope is anchored in Christ's righteousness, which alone can satisfy God's justice and holiness.

Key Quotes

“God is love, but love is not God’s chief attribute. Both holiness and justice precede love in the divine order.”

“The doctrine of the total depravity of all men is not revealed to insult us. It is the diagnosis of a terrible disease we all have by nature, the terrible disease of sin.”

“Friends, it is imperative that you flee to Christ Jesus today, not tomorrow, for none of us are promised another day on this planet.”

“Today is the day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ while He may be found, and seek Him while He is near.”

Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This is sinner saved coming at
you with the following short evangelistic gospel message,
which is sponsored by preacher Wayne Boyd and the brothers and
sisters in Christ Jesus at First Baptist Church located in Alamont,
Michigan, USA. And God willing, this broadcast
will reach you. Lima, Charlie, loud and clear. It is my hope and prayer unto
God most high, the only holy father, that his only begotten
son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be greatly exalted,
that his everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed, that the
pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled, and that his
elect saints be greatly encouraged, cheered, and comforted in these
evil and perilous days. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy, friends, to jot down the scriptural references
for your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find
enclosed encouragement in so great salvation by the perfect
and finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor,
needy, and wretched sinners by His sovereign free grace. That
is to say, Almighty God, in His unmerited favor to save me and
you from our sins and from hell. God is love, but love is not
God's chief attribute. Both holiness and justice precede
love in the divine order. God is so holy that he cannot
look upon sin. See Habakkuk 1, 13. Justice protects his holiness.
God's justice must be satisfied in order for holiness to manifest
love to the sinner. Very well said. A reading from
Psalm 119, verse 28. While the wicked are gay, alert,
and merry, many of God's beloved children go bowed down from day
to day with heaviness of soul. When they compare themselves
with the men of the world under such seasons, they are tempted
to write bitter things against themselves and to pass a verdict
in favor of others. Soul, in the heaviest season
and most dejected frame you have ever experienced, say, could
you find it in your heart to wish to change lots with them? What? Quit your faith in Jesus
and hope of eternal enjoyment of him? For what? The momentary
gratifications and short-lived pleasures of time and sense?
Alas, my soul is in such heaviness that I doubt whether I have either
a spark of faith or a ray of hope in Christ. My soul melteth. It bears no image nor impression
of any grace or of the power of any truth. Faith fails. Hope decays. My heart sinks. I am burdened with a sense of
sin, oppressed with temptations. And what is heaviest of all,
the Lord hides his face and deserts my soul. or excuse me, David
felt all this, Peter experienced the same. Hence he says in 1
Peter 1, 6, Mind those two words. There is
support and relief in them. For a season. Blessed be Jesus. Heaviness lasts not always. He
will deliver out of it. If need be, there is a cause
for it. Good shall issue from it. What
is the remedy when the soul is in heaviness? Prayer, pleading
God's word of grace and promises of love for strength under burdens
and deliverance from soul heaviness. Strengthened thou me according
unto thy word Says wisdom heaviness in the heart of man maketh its
stoop the poor soul sinks under its burden but Says he, a good
word melteth it, or maketh it glad. I say again, a good word
maketh it glad. Proverbs 12, 25. Where shall
ye find a good word? In the gospel of the grace of
God. Here is a good word, enough to
make thy heavy heart leap for joy and thy burdened soul sing
for gladness. Oh, meditate upon it, pray over
it, and may the Lord, the Spirit, give thee comfort from it. It
is the work and office of thy blessed savior in his own time
way and manner He will most surely fulfill it a promise from from
the lord regarding this very topic from isaiah 61 3 It is
written to appoint unto them who mourn in zion to give unto
them beauty for ashes the oil of joy from mourning and the
garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness that the lord may
be glorified And all my burdened frames of heart, when sin and
sorrow sinks me down, I still will cry, my God, thou art, thy
faithful promises to own. To thee alone for strength I'll
cry, for strength can come from none but thee. Oh Jesus, thou
art ever nigh and full of sympathy. That was from preacher William
Mason. The doctrine of the total depravity
of all men is not revealed to insult us. It is the diagnosis
of a terrible disease we all have by nature, the terrible
disease of sin. Because of self-righteousness
and pride, the natural, meaning unregenerate, unbelieving man
sees it as an insult to his self-proclaimed dignity and goodness. But he
does not know the real depths of his own depravity and the
seriousness of sin as it rules and mars his whole life and being.
Total depravity does not mean that we are all as bad as we
could be in the eyes of men. Thank God for his restraining
power to keep us from going the full depths of our fallen sinful
natures on earth before men. But when it comes to God's judgment
and the reality of total depravity, it means, number one, We have
no righteousness of our own. Man lost what righteousness he
had when Adam fell and brought us all, the whole human race,
into a state of sin, depravity, and death. See Romans 3.10 and
also Romans 5.12. Number two, we cannot work out
righteousness by our best efforts to keep the law and obey God.
Righteousness cannot be attained by our works. See Romans 3 19
and 20 also Ephesians 2 verses 8 and 9. Number three, because we fell
in Adam, we are born spiritually dead with no desires for the
things of the glory of God in the Lord Jesus Christ. We do
not know, desire, or seek after righteousness God's way in the
gospel of his free and sovereign grace through the Lord Jesus
Christ. See Romans 3, verses 11 and 12. This is revealed to God's people
by the Holy Spirit in the new birth as he convicts us of sin,
righteousness, and judgment, showing us our need of Christ
through the grace of God and his righteousness alone for our
complete salvation and justification before God. This is when the
Holy Spirit imparts life to a dead sinner and gives that sinner
a desire to seek and cling to Christ for all salvation. That was from preacher Bill Parker
of Eager Avenue Grace Church, located in Albany, Georgia, USA. God's wise and gracious providence
directs me on my way, and everything I truly need is given day by
day, is given day by day. How comforting it is to know
whatever my lot may be, my steps were ordered by the Lord from
all eternity. from all eternity. No matter
what the future holds, in this I find sweet rest. My path is
managed by the Lord. His will I know is best. His
will I know is best. The Christ who governs all the
world has saved me by his grace and he will lead me on my way
until I see his face. Until I see his face. His hand
shall guide me to that home reserved for me above, and then forever
I will sing of providential love, of providential love. Those words were written by preacher
Jim Bird to the tune of the old gospel hymn, Majestic Sweetness.
a righteousness pleasing to God. By the grace of God, I believe
the gospel of God's sovereign grace and have been a believer
for many years, but still remain in myself a helpless sinner and
in my flesh dwells no good thing. And yet I am not filled with
despair for I have a blessed redeemer who ever lives For me
in glory in him. I have no sin My conscience has
no sting of guilt and I have no fear of condemnation without
a doubt I remain a sinner in this body of flesh But the lord
my righteousness is jesus christ and he is my prophet high priest
and king hallelujah, that was from preacher jim bird of 13th
street gospel church located in Ashland, Kentucky, USA. Stony hearts. Since all men by
nature have stony hearts, all the threatening in the world
will do no good. The stony heart of natural man
must be pierced by the power of God in order to be tender.
One with a tender heart desires to know the will of God, has
a readiness for spiritual things, has a disposition to obey revealed
truth, and has a desire to make the things of God his chief business. Outstanding message from old-timer
preacher Scott Richardson It is written in Isaiah 45 22 where
our Lord Jesus Christ commands Look unto me and be saved all
the ends of the earth for I am God and there is none else The
master our Lord Jesus says also in Matthew 11 verses 28 through
30 Come unto me All ye that labor and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn
of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest
unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden
is light. Friends, it is imperative that
you flee to Christ Jesus today, not tomorrow, for none of us
are promised another day on this planet. Today is the day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ while He may be found, and seek Him while He
is near. only by being in Christ, the
ark of our salvation. May we be delivered from the
fierce wrath of Almighty God, which is coming soon upon the
wicked. This about wraps up this evening's
broadcast. I trust Almighty God will awaken
His sleeping elect and draw multitudes of men, women, and children around
the world to His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord,
our righteousness. Yehovah Sidkenu, bless the name. Baruch Hashem, Holy One of Israel. Hagadosh Yisrael, hallelujah. If you are led of the Lord to
