The sermon "Storm Warning #85," delivered by various speakers, focuses primarily on the doctrine of prayer and the centrality of Jesus Christ as the mediator between God and humanity. The speakers emphasize that prayer is essential, particularly in times of trouble, by utilizing Scripture such as Luke 18:1 to encourage persistent prayer despite feelings of despair or weakness. They reference various passages, including Psalms, Romans, and the gospels that affirm God's promises to hear prayers and the redemptive role of Christ. The importance of understanding Christ as both God and man makes Him uniquely qualified as mediator, a concept integral to Reformed theology, which asserts that salvation is attained through grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone. The message culminates in a call for believers to actively reach out to God in prayer, assuring them of His willingness to help and the theological underpinning that emphasizes their dependence on Christ for salvation.

Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This
is Sinner Saved coming at you with the following short evangelistic
gospel message. which is sponsored by preacher
Wayne Boyd and the brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus at First
Baptist Church located in Almonte, Michigan, USA. And God willing,
this broadcast will reach you, Lima Charlie, loud and clear. It is my hope and prayer unto
God most high, the only Holy Father, that his only begotten
son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be greatly exalted. that His everlasting gospel be
clearly proclaimed, that the pride of mere flesh and blood
men be humbled, and that His elect saints be greatly encouraged,
cheered, and comforted in these evil and perilous days. Please
consider having paper and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural
references for your own follow-up study. And so, we begin with
the weekend gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find enclosed encouragement
in so great salvation by the perfect and finished work of
our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy and wretched sinners
by His sovereign, free grace. That is to say, Almighty God
and His unmerited favor to save me and you from our sins and
from hell. The Lord Jesus Christ tells us
in Luke 18 verse one, men ought always to pray and not to faint. Then there could be no room for
despair for prayer exports wants, or you could say prayer exports
needs and imports blessings. But our dear Lord knows there
is in us at all times a backwardness to prayer. This he would remove. It arises from fainting. This
he would prevent. Therefore he opposes prayer to
fainting, for fainting prevents praying. Have you not found it
so? When weary and faint in your
mind, when your spirits are oppressed, your frame low and languid, you
have thought, this is not a time for prayer. Yea, but it is. Pray always now. Sigh out the
burden of your heart and the sorrows of your spirit. Though in broken accents, breathe
your complaints into your father's ear. Now cry to him who loveth
you and careth for you with the love and care of the most affectionate
parent. What makes us faint? Do troubles
and afflictions? Here is a reviving cordial. Call
upon Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver thee, and thou
shalt glorify Me. Psalm 50 verse 15. Does a body of sin and death?
Here's a supporting promise. Whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved. Romans 10, 13. Do we faint because we have called
and prayed again and again to the Lord against any besetting
sin, prevailing temptation? rebellious lust, or evil temper,
and yet the Lord has not given victory over it. Still, says
the Lord, pray always, persevere, be unfortunate, faint not. Remember that blessed word. Our
master said, my time has not yet come, but your time is always
ready. John 7, 6. And the Lord Jesus
also says in Matthew 26, 41, watch and pray that ye enter
not into temptation. Note the difference between being
tempted and entering into temptation. We are assured in due time we
shall reap if we faint not. Galatians 6, 9. Do we find the
spirit willing, but the flesh weak? And because of our coldness,
deadness, and languor in prayer, do we faint? You cannot pray
to please yourself. You think your prayers irksome
to God, and therefore do you faint and are ready to give over
praying? Look at David, he begins to pray in a very heartless,
hopeless way. How long wilt thou forget me,
O Lord, forever? See how he concludes, he breaks
out in full vigor of soul. I will sing unto the Lord, for
he hath dealt bountifully with me. See Psalm chapter 13. Above all, look to Jesus, whoever
lives, to pray for you. Look for his spirit to help your
infirmities. Friends, see Romans 8, 26. Prayer is the work of strongest
saints, of miserable sinners too. Whenever our feeble spirit
faints, may we by prayer learn what to do. Pray always, soul,
why should thou faint? Know Christ thy strength and
righteousness. Come to his throne, tell him thy want, and he with
joy and peace will bless. All prophecy is a declaration
of God's counsel, which he has determined shall come to pass. The man who with all proof before
him will deny that all prophecy is an expression or declaration
of the things that God has determined shall come to pass has no grounds
whatever in truth to say that he believes that Jesus is the
son of God. That was from an old timer, Jonas
Sykes. And that was an excerpt from
a writing Jonas did entitled, God's Particular Providence and
Eternal Counsel. Jesus, the go-between. We read
in 1 Timothy 2.5, for there is one God and one mediator between
God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Between the all holy God and
sin-filled man, there stands the awesome sinless person of
the Lord Jesus Christ. The genius of the gospel is that
Christ is himself, both God and man, and thus is a fitting and
qualified mediator between us and the Almighty. In Christ,
man encounters the all-holy God, and in Christ, God encounters
the perfect man. Jesus, therefore, because he
is both God and man, is the only one exclusively qualified to
be our mediator. Indeed, he must be both God and
man to qualify as an effective representative of both parties.
If he was merely a man, he could not represent God. If God only,
he could not represent man. So, what is a mediator? In disputes,
people often call upon the services of a mediator to help settle
arguments where opposing groups feel hard done by. There are
fences on both sides, and the mediator carefully guides the
warring parties through the troubled waters till at last a settlement
of peace is reached. Of course, this picture breaks
down when applied to the dispute between God and man. We alone
have caused the breach. We are the offending party. God is entirely innocent of any
suggested crimes and utterly filled with integrity in his
dealings with us. We are the errant faction. So let's be clear on this. Christ
is the only qualified mediator because he is both God and man.
He fully represents us to God and fully represents God to us.
He is the meeting place between God and man. If we will not meet
with God in Christ, then we will not meet with God at all until
that final and dreadful day of judgment. See Acts 17 verse 31. If a man will not meet with God
through the appointed mediator, then he will have no advocate
or lawyer to defend him against the record of sin that was his
life. I would remind you that our hope
and salvation rests in Christ alone. And if he does not save
us, then we will not be saved. If his blood has not paid the
ransom, then we are still sold under sin. The gospel has inseparably
bound us to Christ, our Lord and Savior. But what if he is,
as some say, not God? If he is not God, we are in serious
trouble. Let's say, for example, that
Jesus is the highest exalted angel there is, but not God.
What then would happen to us if Jesus and God argued and fell
out? What if they fought and God banished
Jesus from heaven? That would be disastrous for
us because if he gets banished, then we get banished. If he is
unaccepted, then we are unaccepted. If that shocks you, then perhaps
you need to revisit your understanding of the everlasting gospel. Listen
to the truth of this scripture found in Ephesians 4.32. God
has, for Christ's sake, forgiven us We are not forgiven because
we turned over a new leaf and became good. We are forgiven
for Christ's sake alone. Also, it is in Christ Jesus we
have redemption. See Ephesians 1, 7. And we are
accepted only in Christ, the beloved one. See Ephesians 1,
verse 6. We must remember that we are
saved only by His work done for us and apart from us. He represents
us in heaven and we are clothed in His righteousness alone. If
His work for us is entirely wrong, then we are entirely wrong. It
is Christ and His doing and dying alone that qualifies us to be
in glory. He guarantees our welcome and
thus it is of necessity That he is god and that's the gospel
truth from preacher miles mckee A reading from 1st john 3 24
Hereby, we know that he abideth in us by the spirit which he
hath given us Also it is written in Proverbs
19.22, that the soul be without knowledge is not good. What knowledge
is to be compared with the excellency of the knowledge of Christ? All
other will perish. But this is life eternal, said
the Lord Jesus in John 17.3. For he is the true God in eternal
life. 1 John 5 20. Does he abide in
us? Could we possess the whole world
without this? We should only grasp a phantom.
We might as well seek to fill our belly and satisfy our hunger
with the east wind as be happy without Christ abiding in us.
First, what is implied in this? We know what it is to receive
and entertain a friend in our dwelling, according to our love
to him and delight in him, so we treat him. Love will set the
best things before him, give him the preeminence in all things,
and accommodate him with the best room in our house. Yea,
love is jealous, lest all things should not please and will apologize.
Now it is so. But is it so between Christ and
our souls? Have we received him as the best
and dearest friend into our hearts? Do we welcome him, delight in
him, invite his stay, and treat him to forgive what he sees amiss
in our poor accommodation? Then he abideth in us. But secondly,
can anyone know and be sure that Christ abideth in him? Yes, blessed
be God. This is not confined to the first
age of Christianity, not limited to the apostles only, but it
is the precious privilege of every believer in Christ for
it is our comfort that Jesus being glorified, the spirit is
given to all his redeemed to testify of him. Thirdly, this
knowledge is by the spirit which he hath given us. Take heed and
beware that you do not grieve the spirit by ascribing that
as common to nature, which can only be affected by his grace.
Do you see and know and feel yourself to be a poor, miserable
sinner from day to day? Is sin the grief of your soul
and the burden of your body? Do you delight in the sound of
the gospel and in the precious name of the savior of sinners? Is he the hope of your soul the
trust of your heart and the joy of your mind? Do you desire his
company love his presence and delight in his work of salvation
Were he now to appear to you in person and ask What is the
one wish of thy soul ask it shall be done unto thee Could you reply
reply lord jesus that I may know thee as my own dear savior from
sin and damnation into holiness and salvation. Is it so? Who gave thee this spirit? Certainly
not Satan. It springs not in the garden
of nature. It is from the spirit of Christ. You may truly say,
I know Christ abideth in me by the spirit which he has given
me. See 1 John 3.23. The spirit makes known what Jesus
hath done by faith we own and choose him in glory on him alone. The spirit we praise who in these
last days affections doth raise. Jesus to love to live on his
grace. From preacher William Mason. that the grant of complete pardon
and the enjoyment of spiritual peace, the hope of everlasting
happiness and the eternal fruition of heaven should excite joy and
produce praise, there is no reason to wonder, especially when the
blessedness included in these incomparable benefits expressed
in Psalm 103 too, is considered as the fruit of mere sovereign
favor through the blood of Christ Jesus, which is manifestly the
case here. For the language of every real
believer is, Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name
give glory for thy mercy and for thy truth's sake. Psalm 115
verse one. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was and is and is to come. Friends, it is imperative that
you flee to Christ Jesus today, not tomorrow, for none of us
are promised another day on this planet. Today is the day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ immediately. Lord Jesus Christ, come quickly. We wait for you, Lord. Maranatha.
