Brother Gary, to read that entire
passage was dealt with this wicked king that set himself up. God weighed him. Weighed him in the balance. I want you to take your Bibles
and turn with me to the book of Proverbs, chapter 11. And
I'd like to look at one verse of Scripture, the first one.
Proverbs 11, verse 1. Proverbs chapter 11, verse 1. Says this, and reading in light of what
our brother just read when God told this wicked king, ìYouíre weighed in the balance
and youíve found wanting. Youíre coming up short.î This
is what Proverbs 11 says, ìA false balance is abomination
to the But a just weight is His delight. And that just weight, you may
look in your margin there and it will tell you what that means,
a perfect stone. Isaiah 45, verse 21 says this,
There is no God else beside Me, a just God and a Savior, there
is none beside me." I want to know who this God is. I want to know Him. That is what
Paul said, O that I may know Him. That I would know Him in mercy.
know him in acceptance, accepted in the Beloved. I know this based on Isaiah 45,
verse 21. God Almighty is just. He is just. He is just in conduct. He is just in character, and
anything that is not right, anything that is not just compared to Him, is contrary to Him and therefore
is sin. Everything that does not measure,
measure up. fall in line with Him, He's going
to cast out. As I've said before, how perfect
does a man have to be, a woman have to be, to be found eternally
in the presence of Almighty God in mercy? How perfect? As perfect
as God. a false balance, that which does
not measure according to the Lord's standard. A false balance
is abomination to the Lord, but a just weight, a perfect stone. I tried to do a little reading.
on that and it said that there were stones that were used as
the scales. They would take a, that's a one
ounce stone, two ounce, one pound, whatever the scale was, they
used a stone. And it didn't measure up according
to the standard. It was cheating. Cheating. You can't take a stone that's
this big and if it's made out of a certain rock, that rock
may be heavier in mass. Gold is heavier than aluminum. You take an aluminum ball that
big and you take a gold ball that big or a lead ball that
big and you say, well, there's the standard. It's that big.
Well, is that the standard by which A false balance is abomination. It's hateful, deceitful scales, but a perfect stone. What God
Almighty accepts. Now, to say that God hates a
false balance insinuates or sets forth that
there's a true balance. If I tell you that that's cheating,
well, then I'm telling you that there's something fair. Something
is fair if I'm telling you you're lying. If I'm telling you that's
a lie, well, then that means that there is truth. I'm giving
a comparison. To say that God hates a false
standard is to say that there's a true standard. God Almighty reveals His knowledge
of what is even, balanced by passing judgment upon that which
is uneven. If I take a level and I lay it
on that wall right there, it's a quarter of a bubble out of
plumb. I'm going to tell you something.
It ain't plumb. How do you know? It's level. Level says it's not plumb. That
level is the standard. Almighty God has set forth that
that which He hates, an abomination, is a false balance, something
that is not right. Now, the first thing that we
need to understand That is absolutely God's standard. Now listen, this
is God's standard. His holiness. His holiness. And everything that does not
measure according to His holiness. How? I don't even know how to express
that. I mean, I can say it. I can say
that everything that does not measure according to God's holiness,
God is going to cast out. I'm just. Now, where do I go? When the Lord Jesus Christ said
in John 14, verse 6, I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. No man comes to
the Father but by Me. Let me tell you something. This
is where we are. Either He gives us a heart to
bow to Him, trust Him, cast ourselves upon Him, or my friend, you have
no hope. Now what are you going to do? Are you going to cast yourself
upon your baptism? Are you going to cast yourself
upon your church membership? Are you going to cast yourself
upon your free will? Are you going to cast yourself
upon your profession of faith and trust your profession? Let
me tell you something. A false ballot is an abomination
to the Lord. And Almighty God has set forth
in these Scriptures, He said, this is what I'm going to accept. A perfect stone. A perfect stone. A just weight is my delight. The Lord Jesus Christ was baptized. And the Scripture says that heaven
opened up at his baptism. And the Scripture sets forth
that the Father spoke and says, this is a perfect stone. On the Mount of Transfiguration,
Moses and Elijah were standing there. Peter, James, and John
looked at them. Peter said, Lord, if You will,
can we build three altars? One to You and one to Moses and
one to Elijah. And a cloud came over there.
And a voice was heard out of that cloud and said, This is
my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. You hear Him. This is
the perfect stone. A just, right weight is His delight. and a false balance. And here's
the bottom line. Everything that is not according
to Him is a false balance. I don't care what anybody says,
including myself. If it's not according to these
Scriptures, it's a false balance. If it doesn't line up with His
Word, when He says, I have the right to choose, I have
the right to reject, I have the right to raise up, I have the
right to put down, if I got any sense at all, I better say this and I better
believe it. Lord, as You say, it is, it is. Job says, if He slays me, I'm
going to trust Him. Lord, if You take me out, Lord,
if I collapse in this pulpit, God Almighty is just. And He
does as He will in the army of heaven among the inhabitants
of the earth. A man fell in the garden. Almighty
God told Adam, You can eat of all the fruit in this garden
except the fruit of the tree, the knowledge of good and evil.
In the day, Adam, that you do eat of it, in the day you eat
of it, and God knew He was going to eat of it, you're going to
die. You're going to die spiritually. And eventually you'll die physically.
Unless I do something for you, you'll die eternally in the day
that you eat. fell in the garden by one man's
disobedience. One man. One man. One man. One man's disobedience. Many were made sinners. I was born in this world unbalanced. I came from my mother's womb.
Unbalanced. I was conceived in sin. I came
forth speaking lies. And so did you. And everything
that I've ever thought, everything that I've ever said, everything
that I've ever intended was a false balance. It was a
lie. And you know, men can tell you
all day long there's a little good in all men. I can show you
Scripture that says there's none good. I can show you when all men might
say everybody's got a little faith, all you've got to do is
exercise it. I can show you a Scripture that
says all men have not faith. I can show you a Scripture that
says it's given unto you to believe. Men are born imbalanced. We don't think according to God's
holiness. We don't walk according to God's
holiness. We don't act according to God's
holiness. And I'm going to tell you another
thing. We hate God's holiness by nature. The carnal mind, the mind in
which we are born in Adam, is enmity against God. It's contrary. You will not bow. You will not
come. Almighty God is going to have
to do something for me. He is going to have to do something
for you. A false balance, abomination to the Lord, attempting to justify
myself before God based upon my own merit, by my own works,
by my own will, is a false balance. Well, how then, Job said, should
a man be just before God? How? How? If it's going to take
absolute holiness for me to stand accepted by Almighty God, please
tell me how that is. Please don't let me walk out
of this building and leave me hanging. Don't you dare leave
me hanging." Brother Henry Magahan came up
to a man that was on his deathbed. Brother Henry asked him, he said,
is it well with you? And the man told him, He said,
if you've told me the truth, it is. If you told me the truth, it
is. I stand before you this morning as a frail creature, as a sinner,
saved by the grace of God, and I have nothing, nothing that
I can do except proclaim to you what Almighty God has said He
will accept." He said, a just weight, a perfect stone is my
delight. If I've got any spiritual discernment
whatsoever, I'm going to tell you about that perfect stone.
I'm going to tell you about Him. I'm going to tell you about the
Lord Jesus Christ. I'm going to tell you about the
perfect stone who is our rock. I'm going to tell you about Him
who is the obedient servant, the one in whom God Almighty
is well pleased. And if I have any hope, here it is, I'm accepted in the
Beloved. Here's what He said, the Lord
Jesus Christ. Here's what He said. Proverbs
8. We looked at this a few weeks
ago. I'll just read it to you. Proverbs 8.30. Then I was by
Him as one brought up with Him, and I was daily His delight,
rejoicing always before Him. The Lord Jesus Christ. God's
Lamb. God's Son. Here's all my hope right here. Before the foundation of the
world, God the Father chose to show mercy to men. Chose
to show mercy to mankind. He knew that man was going to
fall. He knew that Adam would rebel
against Him. He knew that mankind would by
one act of disobedience be plunged into utter despair
and condemnation except He show mercy. Could God Almighty be just and justify a sinner? How? How? How? One way. The Son of the living God, God's
Son, God Himself, made flesh, God Almighty chose
a people, Ephesians 1, 4, read Ephesians 1. God Almighty chose
a people and He gave these people because He would not allow the
order of man to perish. God loved the world. He loved
the order of man. And He purposed that the order
of man was not going to be obliterated and live forever. Not obliterated
in the sense of being gone, but obliterated from His mercy. He
said, I love the order of man. God so loved the world, the order,
the arrangement. And God purposed Man will live
forever. The order of man will live forever.
So, Revelation 5 says, out of every nation, kindred, tribe
and tongue, He chose some. He chose some. And He gave all that He chose into the hands of His blessed
Son. and made Him the surety. And the Father trusted in Him. All of God's honor. All of God's
honor. All of God's honor. All things are given into the
hands of Him. All things. And the Lord Jesus Christ came
into this world with the responsibility of delivering under the scrutiny
of God Almighty's honor and justice and holiness. And He came into
this world as the representative, the federal head of all that
the Father had given Him. And He came forth, conceived
of the Holy Ghost, conceived in the womb of a virgin. He came
forth just like you and I did. He was born just like we were. Because His brethren were flesh
and blood, He likewise took the same. And as a man, flesh and blood, I was helping Chuck the other
day. Cut my hand right there. Cut my hand on a piece of metal.
His hand's cut just like that. He bled just like that. And he walked this earth for
30 some odd years, 33 years. And the Father, under God Almighty's scrutiny,
watched Him. And every thought, every thought,
every word, every intent, every deed that He did, the Father
watched Him. And when the Father said, this
is My beloved Son at whom I'm well pleased, I'm telling you
This is all your hope right now. That when He walked this earth,
He walked as your representative. When He went to the cross, He
said, I lay down my life for the sheep. We're going through
the book of John. Lord willing, we're going to
go over this scripture in the book of John. I lay down my life
for the sheep." He told some of the Pharisees when they came
to him. He said, well, why don't you talk plain so we can understand
you? Why don't you tell us plainly?
He said, I told you. I did tell you plainly. This
is in the book of John 2. He said, you don't believe because
you're not my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and they
follow me. All of them. He walked this earth, and God
the Father, all that He had chosen in Christ, all out of every kindred
and tongue and tribe and nation, He looked at one man, one man,
And I'm telling you, they would fall or stand in that one man,
whatever that man did. Because remember this, outside
of Him, you don't have any hope. You're already gone. You're already
gone without Him. Without Him, you can do nothing. And Almighty God looked at that
one man. And that one man walked before
God Almighty. And Almighty God looked at that
one man. He said, I'm well pleased. I'm
well pleased with you. And he went to the cross. And
at Calvary, he was made sin. He was made the guiltiness of
what I am. Somebody says, just a legal thing.
No, it wasn't. He was impregnated with our sins. Look it up. Isaiah 53, 11. He shall bear their iniquities. It means gravid. It means pregnant. As I've told you ladies that
have had children, when you bore that child, was it just merely
a legal thing? Or did you actually bear that
child? His soul was made an offering
for sin. He shall bear their sins in His
own body. He was made what I am. And at
Calvary, the Father rejected Him. My God, my God, why have
You forsaken Me? I'll tell you why. He was putting
away the guilt of His people. And He forsook Him that we might
go free in Him. And I'm telling you from the
cross, He cried. It's finished. It's finished. Salvation. Redemption. It's finished. And God Almighty
accepted what He did. Do you know how I know? Because
three days later, God raised Him from the dead. Accepted. Now, a false balance. is an abomination to the Lord.
But a just weight is His delight. Listen to this Scripture as we
close. Isaiah 28, 17. Judgment. Will I lay to the line? I've
told you before, just get a plumb bob in your mind. Hold it up. Take a string. It's got to wait.
Hold it up. There's the line. Judgment will I lay to the line,
and righteousness to the plummet. That line is His holiness. And
the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters
shall overflow a hiding place. In that day, I'm telling you,
when we stand before God Almighty, many were saying to me in that
day, Lord, we prophesied in your name, if He were to lay the plumb bob
of His holiness against this message that I just preached. And when he scrutinizes it, if there was one thought of pride,
and I'm going to tell you something, let me just go ahead and just
be straight up with you. I've already thought so many
proud thoughts in my mind. I've already thought so many
deviating thoughts. My mind, you say, well, Marvin,
I can't see how you've deviated You don't know me. When this
line of His holiness is laid, we prophesied in Your name, cast
out devils in Your name. Oh, really? Did you ever do anything
and you ever had any thoughts for yourself in that? Did you
ever, one time, have you done everything that you've ever done
I'm talking about everything you've ever done in word, thought
and deed. Was it all to the glory of God?
Was it? Well, let me tell you something.
The plumb bob of His holiness is going to expose it. And the
books are going to be opened. And the book. And all of the
books of man's works and self-righteous religion All of His boasting,
all of His so-called free will, everything, everything is going
to be laid to the line of His holiness. God have mercy on our souls if
you stand without a substitute. Because I'll tell you this, there will be no mercy apart
from Christ. A just weight. A perfect stone. That's His delight. What do I need? I need Him. Paul said to the church, Philippi,
but my God shall supply all your need according to His riches
in glory. by Christ Jesus. A false balance
is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight, a perfect
stone, is His delight. I pray that God teach me this.
I pray the Lord bless this message to my heart and to yours for His honor and for the good
and comfort of His people. Okay. Okay, gear.
