from his word. Turn back with me if you will
to the book of Acts the eighth chapter. The book of Acts chapter
8. I'd like to read from verse 26
down through verse 30. And the angel of the Lord spake
unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the
way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And
he arose and went, and behold, a man of Ethiopia, and eunuch
of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who
had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for
to worship. was returning and sitting in
his chariot read Isaiah the prophet. Then the spirit said unto Philip
go near and join thyself to this chariot. And Philip ran thither
to him and heard him read the prophet Isaiah and said understandest
thou what thou readest. I hope this morning that you
are able to give very close attention, pay attention to what we have
to say today. I believe that the Lord has given
me a word for you and I hope this morning that each one of
us might wait before him and be subject to him in this hour. Now we take note, this is a very
familiar story and one that has been a great blessing to me many,
many times as I've read it, meditated upon it, and read it at the baptismal
services that we've had at different times. But we take note, and
of course I think that we're, most of us at least, are aware
of the fact that the salvation of the sinner depends upon the
sovereign decree and good pleasure of our God, that nobody ever
gets saved except those who are chosen of God and those who God
purposes in divine will and providence to save. And so it was so with
the Ethiopian eunuch. This Ethiopian eunuch, it is
evident by the reading of the scriptures that God had gone
before and that in his purpose It was God's will that he be
affected by the reading of the scripture and by the preaching
of the gospel by Philip, and that he would be brought into
the kingdom of God as an obedient servant unto him, an obedient
and useful servant unto him. And so we read here in the scripture
that in verse 26 that the angel of the Lord tested or that the
angel of the Lord spake unto Philip saying arise and go toward
the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza
which is desert. And so we by this alone and then
too in verse 29 then the spirit said unto Philip, Go near and
join thyself to this chariot. We know that God was sovereignly
working in his servant and working in the circumstances and in the
conditions that led up to the salvation of this eunuch. But
then there's some other things that I want to impress upon your
mind this morning that I believe is very important, and we want
to try, if we can, to preach a well-balanced message. We want that the ministry here
would be a balanced ministry in order that you might understand
not only the sovereign grace of God, but you would understand
the responsibility of the sinner. And there are some things that
lost, dead, spiritually impotent sinners can and must do. And I find some things here in
this text this morning and I want to begin by giving them to you
and I hope that you will remember them. Now you cannot save yourself. This is evident. There isn't
anybody here that believes that a man can save himself. And certainly
we know that no man can redeem himself. We know that we're all
in debt to God and we cannot pay the debt. That the debt is
so great that none of us can meet the requirements of God
toward our soul. We cannot put away our sin. We
cannot justify ourselves. We cannot give ourselves a new
heart. We cannot give ourselves eternal
life because we're spiritually dead, we're born that way, and
salvation according to the Bible is a gift of God. Only Jesus
Christ can save a poor, lost, helpless, impotent sinner. Only
Jesus Christ has life and he has the power to speak to a dead
soul and to bring that soul into a state of spiritual and everlasting
life. But now there are some things
that we can do and what you can do you must do and I want you
to listen to me. Was this Ethiopian eunuch, was
he lost? Was he dead in sin? Indeed he
was, yet he did not neglect his soul. And I'll point this out
to you, and I think this is very important. It is wrong for an
individual to say, well, you know, the preacher believes,
and the New Covenant Baptist Church believes in the doctrine
of absolute total sovereignty, and they believe in election,
they believe in predestination, and therefore it's not necessary
that I look after my mortal soul, I'll just simply just leave it
to God and let it be. Well, my friend, in the final
analysis, it is in God's hand what becomes of your soul. But
you ought not neglect your soul. There's some things that you
ought to do and some things that you can do, and there's some
things that this man, this eunuch did, and I believe that it would
behoove us to listen carefully to the testimony of Holy Scripture
and attempt to look after our own souls. Now, I believe that
this man, that he was inclined by divine grace to look after
his soul. And I don't think anybody ever
really does look after their soul until they are inclined
by the grace of God to do so. But now this man, I think that
he walked in the light that God gave him, and I believe that
this eunuch here, as I hold him up this morning as an example
before you, will give you some light into maybe what you ought
to do. If you care for your eternity-bound
soul, your never-dying soul, if you have some concern for
it, where it will spend eternity, then I believe this morning you
ought to follow the example of this union. Now then, if you'd
escape the wrath of God, listen to me. Number one, This Ethiopian,
I think that he got a hold up and we might just simply say
that he bought a Bible and he began to read it. Now you can
do that. We know that this man was sitting
in his chariot and the scripture says that he was reading the
prophet Isaiah. He was reading the Bible. Now,
listen to me this morning. If you would find the Pearl of
Great Price, then you must search for him in the field where he
is hidden. And where is he hidden? Where
is the field? What is the field in which the
Pearl of Great Price is hidden? It is the Word of God. It is
the Bible. This Bible testifies of the Lord
Jesus. We read in John chapter 5 and
verse 39 where the Bible says search the scriptures for in
them You think you have eternal life and they are they which
testify of me Which simply means that the Word of God Testifies
of the Son of God and if you'd find the pearl of great price
if you'd find life eternal Then you ought to search for it in
the field where it's hidden and that is in the Word of God Now
then, the eunuch sought the Lord, and I think you can do that. By grace you can do that. I do
not know if you will do it, but you can seek the Lord if your
heart be so inclined to do so. And I don't want to ever leave
the impression with anybody that it's not the responsibility of
every soul to seek the Lord. Because it is your responsibility
to seek out the God of the Bible and to seek Him with your whole
heart. And when you seek him, when you're enabled to do it
with your whole heart, then you will find him. Now this Ethiopian
eunuch here, he had gone up to the temple at Jerusalem. And
the place where God had promised to meet with men, this man had
taken the journey, it was a long and very cold and dangerous journey
that this man had taken to go up to Jerusalem there to meet
in that place where God had promised that he would meet with men.
But the man was in trouble, don't you see? And he was a sinner
in need of a Savior, and so he made this trip from Ethiopia
to Jerusalem. Now you say, well why in the
world would he do that? Well this man, listen to me this
morning, he has an immortal soul and his soul is lost and he feels
the burden of his guilt and the burden of his sin upon him and
so he would have relief and he would find some hope, he would
find a deliverer. And so the Lord Jesus Christ
is that deliverer. And God has promised to meet
with men, with sinners like you and I, when we meet in the assembly
of the saints of God. If we read in Matthew chapter
18 and verse 20 where it says that if two or three of you are
gathered in my name, then I'm there in the midst of you. I'll
be there. And so the Lord has promised
to meet with His church And so if you, like this Ethiopian eunuch,
would like to come into the presence of God trusting that maybe God
in His presence and power might visit your soul, then the thing
for you to do is make the trip into the house of God to come
in where the gospel is being preached, where the bread of
life is being set forth, where the feast, the gospel feast,
is being set forth and to the souls of men. Now if you care
for your soul, then seek the Lord there. Though the eunuch
did not find the Savior at first, he was not deterred from his
pursuit. He was not deterred. When he
left Jerusalem, I believe he was still seeking the Lord because
he was reading, was he not, the book of Isaiah chapter 53. He
was still reading and searching in the field where the pearl
of great price was hid in order that he might find Him. He was
still doing that. He did not seek to know the mysteries
of Scripture, but the person of Scripture. No doubt, as he
read the prophet Isaiah, he cried out to God from his heart what
we find here in the last part of verse 30, or what we find
on down here a little later in verse 34. He said, I pray thee,
of whom speaketh the prophet? This of himself, or some other
man? Who is the prophet talking about?
Is he talking about himself or is he talking about somebody
else? Well, the prophet was indeed
talking about somebody else. He was talking about the Son
of God. Now brethren, listen to me this morning. There is
one thing needful. There are many things that are
interesting. There are many things that are
pleasant. There are many things that are useful. But only one
thing is needful. And that one thing needful is
Jesus Christ. It's the Son of God. It's the
personage of the Bible. It's that one who's the central
figure of Holy Scripture. And if I have Christ, I have
all that God requires. I have all that I need, and I
have all that God can give. Now did you hear me? If we have
the Lord Jesus Christ, we have all that God requires, we have
all that God can give, and we have all that we need. If we
have the Lord Jesus. He was reading the prophet Isaiah,
the testimony of the prophet about Christ. And he said, of
whom speaketh the prophet. Now, then, while he was seeking
the Lord with all of his heart, God sent him a gospel preacher. God sent him somebody that knew
something about what the prophet was talking about. God sent him
somebody that had been enlightened by the Spirit of God, and somebody
that knew the way of salvation, knew how God saves sinners. He
knew how this man Philip did, how to speak to the soul. And so the Lord led him. And
Philip by the arrangement of divine providence came and he
preached Christ unto this eunuch. I say it was arranged by divine
providence. I say that God always goes before
in the salvation of a sinner. that God always prepares both
the heart of the sinner and prepares some vessel, some individual
that's got the word in their heart to give it unto a poor
soul. God, by divine arrangement, made
it possible for this man to hear the gospel, and when he heard
the gospel, it's like Mike said this morning about the song Amazing
Grace, the first time he heard it, And when this man, the first
time when he heard the gospel, he believed it. He heard it in
his innermost soul. He heard as Philip preached. He heard the gospel and he understood
the gospel and he understood that Jesus Christ was the one
that had been humiliated How that he who was rich became poor,
that poor sinners might be enriched, and that they might have everlasting
mercies. I extended to them even the sure
mercies of David. And he understood that, and so
he was delivered. And God opened his heart, and
he received the gospel. Now then, when he believed, the
Bible says that he also desired to be baptized. And he was baptized
and he went on his way rejoicing. He walked in the light that God
gave him. He did what he knew to do. He
did what he could and what he had to do. And God gave him more
light and God saved him. God saved the sinner by his matchless,
unchanging grace. This Ethiopian eunuch got saved
right here sitting in his chariot when Philip preached Jesus unto
him. And here's what the Word of God
would say to you this morning. Awake thou that sleepest, and
arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light. Christ
will give you light. And maybe there's some poor soul
here this morning and you say, well preacher, I don't know what
to do. I don't know how to go about
it. I don't know what I ought to do. But I feel some compelling
force within my soul saying that you must rid yourself of the
burden of sin. And some way you must get out
under the wrath of God and get into that place where God would
favor and show mercy to a sinner. I must get into that position.
My friend, the testimony of the word is, Awake thou that sleepest,
and rise from the dead. We know that in this command
of scripture, in Ephesians 5 and 14, in the command of scripture
there is power. There's power. There's God's
power. And the Word comes forth to the
sinner. Arise thou that sleepest and
rise from the dead. Wake up and rise from the dead. No man can awake from the dead
unless there's divine power. But when the divine power in
the commandment comes to your heart, you'll be able to get
up, wake up, and you'll be able to wake up, I say, out of the
sleep of death. and you'll be regenerated by
God's Spirit, saved by God's Spirit. And so then that's the
Word of the Lord to you this morning. Now I feel impressed
at this time to dwell a little on the question that Philip asked
the eunuch in verse 30. Look in verse 30, And Philip
ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Isaiah,
and he said, Understandest thou what thou readest? Now this is
what Philip asked this eunuch. We've introduced to you the subject,
and I want to give you some things here that might help you. He
said, Understandest thou what thou readest? Now, beloved, it's
a good thing to read the Bible every day. It's a good thing
to read the Bible regularly. And we ought to be reading the
Word of God. But now we can learn the facts
of Bible history and we can memorize as much of the Bible as we can,
and we can study all the doctrines of Holy Scripture, but it is
quite possible that we could do all of that. read the Bible
every day, that we could memorize the Scripture, learn the facts
of Bible history, and study the doctrines of the Bible with somebody
who's educated in the doctrines of the Bible, and still, and
yet, gain no spiritual benefit from the Word of God. Just simply
to come up dry. Just simply not to have any understanding
about what this is all about. To miss it all. And so this man
was asked by Philip, do you understand what you're reading there when
you've got that open Bible on your lap? Do you know what it
is that this Bible is talking about? Well, the Word of God
will be a benefit to our souls only to the degree that we are
able to understand it. And such understanding in the
Scriptures is and can only be gained by the gracious instruction
of the Spirit of the Living God. I would invite you to turn with
me to 1 Corinthians chapter 2. 1st Corinthians chapter 2 and
let me read verses 11 through 16 and we see here how impossible
it is for a natural man to understand Understand what he reads from
the Bible. I mean when I say a natural man,
I mean a man who is just has been born once, he's been born
into this world, he's been born of a woman, and the Spirit of
God has never enlightened him, and he's been left to himself,
he's in a state of what we call nature. This man has not the
ability in and of himself to understand the Scripture. Now
begin reading with verse 11. For what man knoweth the things
of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him, Even so,
the things of God knoweth no man but the Spirit of God. The things of God no man knows.
but the Spirit of God. Now, we, Paul said, that's believers,
that's children of God, that's children of grace. We have received
not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God,
that we might know the things that are freely given to us of
God. Which things also we speak not
in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy
Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the
natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God,
for their foolishness unto him, neither can he know them." Neither
can he know them. Now that's just simply making
the statement that I've made before in another way. That a
man in his natural state cannot know the things of God, and that
is because they are discerned or they're spiritually discerned.
meaning that they are discerned only by the Spirit of God in
the soul. And so when God comes by the
Spirit and indwells your heart, then and then only will you be
able to decipher and to receive and assimilate into your spiritual
system the truths of Holy Scripture. And so this we need to understand.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things. He that has the Holy
Spirit has the ability to make judgments and is able to rightly
divide the word of truth. He's able to explain and able
to understand what it is that God is teaching in His Word. Now then, this morning, I want
to give you some things that I think very interesting, at
least to me, and I hope they will be to you. There's five
things that I want to mention to you this morning about this
understanding that is given by the Holy Scripture and given
by the Holy Spirit to our hearts. Notice, if you will, first of
all, a man has understanding the scriptures to the degree
that he sees Christ in everything and he sees everything in Christ. Now let me make that statement
again. A man has understanding in the Holy Scriptures to the
degree that he sees Christ in in everything in the Bible and
that he sees that in a final analysis everything is in Christ. Now What that means to me is
this, that the scriptures are about Christ. That's what they're
about. And when you come to the shadows
and to the types and the Old Testament, when you come to the
scriptures, every scripture in the Bible, if you follow it,
by the leading of the Spirit of God will lead you to the personage
of the Lord Jesus Christ. It'll lead you to the Son of
God. It'll lead you to Him. Because everything in the Bible
is about Him, and then everything is in Christ. Which means that
if you're going to have anything from God, It will be as you receive
it in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, because God is
blessed, as Paul said, with all spiritual blessings in Christ. And if a sinner has Christ, he
has, as we said earlier, all that God requires, all that he
needs. He has everything that God can
give. And so, sinner, this morning,
do you want what God has? Then Christ is everything. Christ is all. And there isn't
anything apart from Him that will do you any good. And so
if you have understanding, true understanding by the Spirit of
God, you will know that Christ is in everything and everything
is in Him. Everything is in Christ. Alright,
now Philip gave the unique understanding in the scripture when he preached
unto him Jesus. As it says in verse 35, he opened
his mouth and began at the same scripture and preached unto him
Jesus. He preached Christ, he preached
nothing but Christ, and that gave the unique understanding. In the Word of God, Christ alone
is preeminent. The Bible, as we've said, is
a book about the person and the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ is the whole counsel of God, and the whole counsel of
God is Christ. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2
and 2, For I determined not to know anything among you, save
Jesus Christ and Him crucified. And don't go, you know, there's
some people that go saying, well, isn't there anything in the Bible
but Christ? My friend, you take Jesus Christ
out of the Bible and what you've got left, you might as well just
take to the trash dump and burn. Christ is the all in all of the
Scripture. He's the preeminent one in the
Bible. And He's the only Savior of sinners,
and if you're ever going to be saved, you must have Him. dwelling
in your heart. He is salvation. Now then the second thing I'd
like to say is this, that I have understanding in the scripture
to the degree that my understanding creates in me a humble submission,
a humble submissive obedience unto the Lord Jesus Christ. Now,
you take an individual who's a rebel toward the Bible, a rebel
toward God, a rebel toward Christ, a man who will not bow his knee
to the authority of the Holy Scriptures is a man who has never
been led by the Spirit of God into the understanding of what
the Bible is all about. But if an individual has a humble,
submissive, obedient heart, toward the Word of God, then that individual
has been led by the Spirit of God. in his willing surrender to believers
baptism, the ordinance of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He wanted to be baptized after he testified that he believed
the gospel. He wanted water baptism. He wanted believers baptism. Now you might say, well, why,
preacher, is believers baptism so important? Why did this man
want to do that? Why did he want to do something
else? Well, believer's baptism is important because it is, I
believe, the first step of obedience for a child of God in this world
after regeneration. It's the first step of obedience.
Our Savior commands that all believers are to be immersed
in water following His example, and those who refuse to obey
Christ as Lord Do not know him, because in Mark 16 and 16 it
says, He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, and
he that believeth not shall be damned. So then, those who refuse
to obey Christ are those who do not know Him. If you know
Him, then you will submit yourself to water's baptism. Believer's
baptism is the answer, Peter said in 1 Peter 3 and 21, to
a good conscience to God. And all believers are willingly
obedient to the Master as a matter of conscience. The Lord Jesus
said, you do this! Testimony of Scripture is, you
do this! You submit yourself to water
baptism. And only a rebel would say, I
will not be baptized. I believe, but I won't be baptized. A rebel only. Well, why is believer's
baptism important? It's baptism to the believer
is a public confession of his faith in the Lord Jesus. Our immersion in water is a symbol.
It's a picture of our salvation by the substitutionary work of
the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism is a symbol. It's a burial,
resurrection, declaring how that we were crucified, how that we
were buried, how that we were risen again with Christ, our
substitute. Know ye not that so many of you
as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death,
Paul said? Therefore we are buried with
Him and baptism into death, that like as Christ was raised up
from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should
also walk in the newness of life. That's Romans 6, verses 3 and
4. And then too, baptism is a believer's public identification with Christ
and his people. When those early believers, such
as this Ethiopian eunuch and the apostles and those in the
early church, publicly were baptized, by that act they renounced the
religions of their fathers and they identified themselves with
the despised people of God, that poor afflicted people of God
that were in the world. Being born again with the Spirit
of grace, they said from this day forward by the grace of God
we'll walk in newness of life with those that have been saved
and those who have a humble and obedient heart and a right spirit. And we'll walk with them all
our days. And then also baptism is very
important because it pictures our anticipation of the resurrection
from the dead. As we died in Christ, Romans
6 and 5, even so we shall most assuredly be raised from the
dead by the power of God. And let all those who believe
then, do as this Ethiopian eunuch, let them ask for baptism. Let
them ask that they would be able to be identified with the Savior,
the Christ who died in their place and was risen. Let them
ask that they might be identified with Him. And if you got the
humble, submissive, obedient heart that this eunuch had after
God saved him, you'll do it. You'll do it. You'll submit yourself
to water baptism. Now then, The third thing that
I want to say, I said there's five things, let me hurry on
with this, is that we have an understanding in the Word of
God to the degree that our understanding causes us to rejoice in Christ. Causes us to rejoice in Christ.
Once this man understood the scriptures, once he bowed his
knee in humble submission to water baptism, he went on his
way rejoicing, He went on his way rejoicing in the Lord Jesus
Christ. Now then, this is very important.
I like what Charles Spurgeon had to say about a man whose
burden was lifted from his soul. A soul set free, and he said
this, The faith of the Scriptures leads joy by the hand and chases
away despair. And so an individual that has
come to the understanding of the Word of God being led in
the truth by the Holy Spirit, I believe will be able to rejoice
in the Lord Jesus. Be able to rejoice in an all-sufficient
Savior. Rejoice in the Redeemer Christ. Now there are many many of God's
poor afflicted people in the world that have a struggle when
it comes to having any joy in their soul. So much depression,
so much trial, So many difficulties. Many of them feel that they're
destitute, despised, forsaken, and have come to the place, and
sometime by the grace of God they have the ability to say,
and thou from hence shall be my all. But many, many times
in between the feeling of being despised, forsaken, and destitute,
they have a great time of despair and discouragement in their hearts
before they get to the place that they're able to say that
Christ is my all. But they'll come to that. They'll
come to that. You give them a little time.
Give the Spirit of God a little time in your soul and you may
feel cast down and very low in your heart but it won't be long
before you'll be able to rejoice in Christ as you're all. And
the more you study this Bible, it becomes more and more clear
to me that the things that we look at are temporary, that they're
temporal. And I think that every child
of God, sooner or later, will have opportunity to rejoice in
Christ and in Christ alone. I think the time is going to
come when we all maybe will forget everything else. Maybe our minds
will go But I do believe that we'll remember Him, and we'll
remember what He's done for us. And even in the times of greatest
affliction and trial, I think we'll remember the Lord Jesus,
who bore our sin in His own body on the tree, and He that was
willing to die in our place, in our room instead. He was willing
to receive upon Himself all that we owed divine justice, in order
that the debt would be paid in full, and that we would go free,
a soul set free, by divine grace. Isn't that a marvelous and wonderful
thing to be able to think that we have Christ and that we can
dwell on that and rejoice in Him regardless of what else we
do not have but we have Him. It's like the old lady said she
had a crust of bread and a glass of water and she said all of
this and Christ too. All of this and Jesus too. And
so, my friend, isn't it wonderful that we can rejoice in Him? Well,
listen, if you've been led by the Spirit of God in your understanding
of the Bible, you'll be led to believe that Christ is all and
you can rejoice in the Lord Jesus. Now then, let's hurry on here.
The last thing that I want to give you is this. Oh, wait a
minute. That was the third thing. Let
me give you the fourth thing. I have understanding in the Scriptures
to the degree that my understanding causes me to seek out the salvation
of others. This eunuch carried the gospel
with him back to Africa. Now once a man learns the gospel,
he just somehow or other has got to tell it to somebody else. Well, I found the Pearl of Great
Price. I found salvation, I found deliverance, I found the Savior
and I know Him in my heart. Just got to tell somebody else
and that's what this man did and the historian tells us that
he went back to Africa and many churches were established and
great things happened through the testimony of this Ethiopian
eunuch. And so once you know the Lord,
I believe that God will loose your tongue so that you'll be
able to speak of Him and His salvation. Now the last thing.
If I have understanding of the Word of God, then I have it to
the degree that I have a message for all people at all times. Now this is important. You say,
well preacher, I wouldn't want to have to preach a funeral.
I mean, I might be able to stand up there and teach and talk a
little bit about the things of God to folks that are normal
and folks not having any real problems. Well, my brother, my
sister, listen. If the Spirit of God leads us
in our understanding of the Bible, we've got a message for all men
at all times. We've got something to say to
people that are afflicted, people that are tried, people that are
in bereavement, we've got something to say. The Word of God has a
word for all men at all times, does it not? And so then it's
a message of life, it's a message of salvation, of comfort, peace,
and joy to all people in every circumstance of life. My message
to you is a message that I have received. And what I have received
from the Lord, I deliver to you. And I have received consolation
and comfort. I have received blessing. I have
received strength in the time of trial, grace in the time of
trial. I have received some encouragement
in the time of grief. I have been lifted up in my soul
when there's been times when it just looked like there was
not any hope at all in the future. And so what I have received,
I deliver to you. And so anytime that God leads
an individual in the study of the Word and in his meditation
upon the Word of God, You'll begin to see this thing come
together that there's a well-rounded message for men where they are
in the circumstances that they're in. And this we need to understand. Understandest thou what thou
readest? Well, what I have received is
the message of Christ and Him crucified. May God be pleased
to bless these thoughts to your heart. And if you're here this
morning and you are a soul that's in distress, you're a lost soul,
let me encourage you to take the steps this Ethiopian took
get you a Bible, begin to read it, and start asking some questions. What's this about? And God, as
you go to the house of God, as this Ethiopian went up there,
all the way up there to Jerusalem, to the temple, listen, as you
get up there and you start fellowship with God's people, talking to
them a little bit, asking some questions, there will be somebody
that God will anoint to say something to your heart. that will meet
your heart's need. Somebody will be there, and the
Spirit of God will then, from taking the Word, begin to teach
you. And these other things that we've
been talking about, they'll all fall into order, they'll come
into line in your life, and they'll all be there as you mature and
grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus. Father, we
thank you for the privilege this morning of preaching your word.
We ask that you will use the message, make it a blessing,
and may it be, our Father, that fruit will come from the message. May someone hear the voice of
the Spirit of God in their soul this morning saying, Awake thou
that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give
thee light. In Jesus' name we plead the blood. Amen.
